Are you a legal whiz with a passion for civil litigation and a knack for providing top-notch client care? If so, we're looking for someone just like you to join our dynamic team as a Civil Litigation Solicitor!


Job Summary:
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Civil Litigation Solicitor to join our team. The role involves providing exceptional legal advice, representation, and support to clients while upholding the highest standards of professional conduct and client care. The responsibilities encompass various civil claims, including negligence, Actions Against Public Authorities, Inquests, Personal Injury, Public Inquiries, and general Civil Litigation matters.

General Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to SRA regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Upholding strict confidentiality and data security.
  • Delivering high-level service across all areas of the Group.
  • Demonstrating clear and courteous communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Compliance with procedures outlined in the Office Manual.
  • Following health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
  • Providing additional support to other departments during periods of high business activity.

Job-Specific Tasks:

  • Independent case management.
  • Conducting legal research and preparing cases.
  • Handling court proceedings and managing all facets of litigation, including disclosure and drafting witness statements.
  • Attending Client Meetings, hearings, and Court to liaise with various parties.
  • Participation in mediations, settlement meetings, or alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Acting as an advocate by representing clients at court applications, case management conferences, and pre-trial hearings.
  • Managing correspondence and client inquiries while effectively managing client expectations.
  • Providing written advice to clients when necessary.
  • Producing documents, obtaining expert reports, and issuing instructions.
  • Meeting chargeable time and financial targets set by the Head of Department.
  • Keeping updated with changes in laws and procedures.
  • File management, administration, and time recording.
  • Managing ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Experience:

  • Essential experience in Civil Litigation.
  • 5 Years PQE would be desirable
  • Experience working with vulnerable clients, resolving issues, and handling difficult conversations.
  • Proficiency in Case Management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Outlook.
